Lapis Lazuli Cylinder Seal
The Lapis Lazuli Cylinder Seal is a an engraved cylinder made of lapis lazuli (a semi-precious stone known for its rich blue color). The engravings make a picture story when rolled on a soft two dimensional surface, like a slab of wet clay.
A basic Knowledge (History) roll would reveal such cylinder seals were used as administrative tool, jewelry, magical amulets, notary tools, or even grave goods in ancient times – thousands of years in the past, certainly much earlier than the times of Dag Zahag.
The Cylinder Seal had upon it 4 distinct scenes. In the first some kind of pyramid structure with a swaying serpent or worm above it; the second was a cleric with his arms raised; the third the sign of the celestial polestar, an symbol of Varna, the king of the Immortals; the fourth was five animals – a rat, a canine of some sort, a vulture, a fly or other insect, and a bat.
