The Golden Wastes
The Black Taj is a demiplane named for its impressive monuments in the deep jungles. The Rakshasa rule here along with their servants – manticores, weretigers, lamias, chimeras, medusas, howlers, corrupted genies, and armies of enslaved lemures and other demons. There is fabulous wealth here along with masses of impoverished peasants. None can say who is a trapped man or enslaved lemure. A vast slave trade goes on here. Many are tempted to travel to this world, but the secret police of the Rakshasa are expert at discovering intruders, and anyone captured is thrown into the dungeons until their memory is erased and they are cruelly enslaved. The Black Taj has a timeless quality about it, but the dregs here are from all manner of ages in the history of Orbis.
From their rule here, the Rakshasas plan their assaults on the mortal world, and occasionally are able to establish outposts and settlements that mirror the plane of the Black Taj. The environment is almost unbearable. It is incredibly hot, humid, and full of decaying vegetation. It is a jungle hell, although the rakshasa palaces are always cool, pleasant and filled with their slave servants.
